Construction
The various construction qualifications we are approved to offer through both SQA and Construction Awards Alliance are completed 'on-site', requiring no 'off the job' training or exams.
These qualifications lead to relevant CSCS cards and help companies meet CDM regulations by having a skilled qualified workforce.
Funding may be available for certain qualifications through Modern Apprenticeship (Scotland) programmes, also OSAT CITB – Construction Skills Grants if eligible. Please enquire for further details.
Construction - Level 2 SVQ & NVQ
The level 2 S/NVQ qualifications are aimed at those at technician / operative level in relevant construction occupations. These qualifications are completed by gathering some work place evidence, backed up by assessor observation and questioning in order to judge candidate competence.
Online portfolio system is available for those who prefer using e-portfolio method.
Approximate achievement time is 3 – 6 months.
These SVQ and NVQ’s lead to Blue CSCS Card (Skilled Worker card)
Construction - Level 3 SVQ & NVQ
The level 3 S/NVQ qualifications are aimed at those at supervisor level in relevant construction occupations. These qualifications are completed by gathering work place evidence, backed up by various optional methods of proving candidate knowledge and understanding, e.g. professional discussion and oral questions.
Online portfolio system is available for those who prefer using e-portfolio method.
Approximate achievement time is 9 months.
These SVQ and NVQ’s lead to Gold CSCS Card (Supervisor card)
Construction - Level 4 SVQ & NVQ
The level 4 S/NVQ qualifications are aimed at those at manager level in relevant construction occupations. These qualifications are completed by gathering work place evidence, backed up by various optional methods of proving candidate knowledge and understanding, e.g. professional discussion and reflective account. Online portfolio system is available for those who prefer using e-portfolio method.
Approximate achievement time is 9-12 months.
These SVQ and NVQ’s lead to Black CSCS Card (Manager card)
Qualifications can lead to Professional Body Membership, e.g. CIOB Incorporated Membership.
Construction - Level 5 SVQ & NVQ
The level 5 S/NVQ qualifications are aimed at those at senior manager level in relevant construction occupations. These qualifications are completed by gathering work place evidence, backed up by various optional methods of proving candidate knowledge and understanding, e.g. professional discussion and reflective account.
Online portfolio system is available for those who prefer using e-portfolio method.
Approximate achievement time is 9-12 months.
These SVQ and NVQ’s lead to Black CSCS Card (Senior Manager card)
Qualifications can lead to Professional Body Membership, e.g. CIOB Membership.
