Occupational Health and Safety - Level 3 S/NVQ qualification

Has been developed for appropriate individuals working in an organisation with hazards and risks of a relatively straightforward nature. Their task would be to promote a positive culture of health and safety, by setting up safe systems, and developing a safety policy to satisfy the company's obligations under current legislation.
Should take around 6-12 months to complete. Leading to membership of IOSH. (Tech IOSH).

Occupational Health and Safety Level 3

In order to achieve the award, you must be successful in achieving 7 Units:

5 Mandatory Units:

• Make sure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
• Develop procedures to safely control work operations
• Monitor procedures to safely control work operations
• Promote a healthy and safe culture within the workplace
• Conduct a health and safety assessment of a workplace

2 Optional Units from the following:

• Investigate and evaluate health and safety incidents and complaints in the workplace
• Make sure your own actions within the workplace aim to protect the environment
• Review health and safety procedure in workplaces
• Supervise the health, safety and welfare of a learner in the workplace

Modern Apprenticeship funding may be available in Scotland for those eligible under SDS funding guidelines.
