The level 5 qualification
The S/NVQ in Management of Health and Safety Level 5 has been developed for those persons appointed to provide health and safety assistance in organisations with significant hazards and complex risks. This qualification is beneficial to senior managers / Directors. Takes from 16-24 months to complete.
Qualification Structure (11 Units)
In order to achieve the award you must be successful in achieving the following 8 mandatory units:
- Manage the use of financial resources
- Secure financial resources for your organisation's plans
- Develop and review the organisation's health and safety strategy
- Influence and keep pace with improvements in health and safety practice
- Promote a positive health and safety culture
- Develop and implement the health and safety policy
- Identify the learning and development needs of the organization
- Develop a strategy and plan for managing changes in people resourcing
You must also achieve 3 optional units from:
- Manage activities to meet requirements
- Contribute to improvements at work
- Manage the performance of teams and individuals
- Contribute to the development of learning within the orgainisation
- Develop and implement systems and procedures within the workplace to minimize environmental impact of the organization
- Develop and implement effective communication systems for health And safety information
- Design learning programmes
- Manage the contribution of other people to the learning process
- Design, deliver and evaluate changes to organizational structure
- Contribute to the design, delivery and evaluation of work procedures
