Q What is a Modern Apprenticeship?

A. MAs are an option that offers individuals employment from day one, with government funding* towards a recognised qualification (NVQ at level 3 or above). Existing employees can also enrol onto the Modern Apprenticeship programme. They are designed to meet the growing demand for a highly skilled workforce. Core Skills / Key Skills must be demonstrated. Plus other enhancements that meet the needs of the company, e.g. Forklift training, First Aid Training.

* In Scotland full funding is available for 16-19 year olds in Business Admin L2, L3, and Logistics Operations Management L3 and Occupational Health and Safety L3. Skillseeker funding is available for Warehousing and Storage L2.

Modern Apprenticeships are available to individuals currently in employment, looking to develop their skills and gain a recognised qualification, and also to those entering employment with a new employer.
