Providing Security Services NVQ Level 2

This award covers all the areas which are common to all security officers, while being flexible enough to covers areas specific to each individual's job role

Mandatory Units

• 001 Minimise and respond to health and safety risks in your workplace
• 002 Communicate effectively in the workplace
• 003 Give customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation
• 004 Control security incidents
• 005 Produce documents manually

Optional Units

Candidates must also achieve three of the following units:

• 006 Maintain the security of property and premises through observation
• 007 Control entry to and exit from premises
• 008 Carry out searches of people and their property for unauthorised items
• 009 Provide security at licensed venues
• 010 Carry out searches of vehicles for unauthorized items
• 011 Arrest people suspected of committing an offence
• 012 Deal with disorderly and aggressive behaviour
• 013 Monitor areas using CCTV systems
• 014 Maintain CCTV video tape libraries and preserve potential evidence
• 015 Maintain the operational performance of CCTV systems
• 016 Provide covert security in retial environments
• 017 Detect loss and theft in retail environments
• 018 Control a guard dog under operational conditions
• 019 Prevent unauthorized items passing through passenger ports
• 020 Present evidence in court and at other hearings
• 021 Produce documents using work processing software
