NVQ / SVQQ What is an NVQ / SVQ?A. National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) / Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) are government led qualifications which are structured to recognise people's competence or ability to do their job to the required standard. They are developed by representatives from leading groups within the specific industry/sector and must be approved by the National Council for Vocational qualifications. An NVQ requires people to gather evidence of their skills and competencies from their everyday work rather than from the more traditional exams or courses. There are several hundred different NVQs/SVQs on offer across all sectors of industry. |
