Armed Forces Day 2015

22 June 2015

Armed Forces Day is a chance to show your support for the men and women of our armed forces, whether currently serving troops, veterans, cadets or service families.

Celebrations begin across the country on Monday 22 June when the Armed Forces Day flag is raised on buildings and famous landmarks around the country.

In Ayr, our very own Flight Sergeant Shannon Alexander was chosen to represent 137 (Ayr & Prestwick) Squadron of the Air Training Corps and raised the flag, along with representatives from Army and Naval Cadets.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Helen Moonie, Provost of South Ayrshire Council, Lord-Lieutenant John Duncan and local MSPs.
